Buttered T Bone Steak With Tomato Salad


This steak is seared in a hot pan with plenty of butter, then served with a simple salad - easy and delicious.

The ingredient of Buttered T Bone Steak With Tomato Salad

  • 450g thick cut beef t bone steak
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 50g butter
  • 5 sprigs thyme optional
  • 2 cloves bruised garlic optional
  • 400g heirloom cherry tomatoes room temperature chopped
  • 1 chilled cucumber peeled thinly sliced
  • 1 4 cup flat leaf parsley leaves
  • 50g marinated goatu2019s feta

The Instruction of buttered t bone steak with tomato salad

  • season steak on both sides with salt and pepper leave for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour to reach room temperature
  • heat a heavy cast iron frying pan on high heat heat oil and 10g of butter until butter is foaming add steak and cook for 4 minutes each side to create a deep brown crust
  • add remaining butter thyme and garlic if using to the pan and allow to bubble tilt the pan to pool butter on one side and spoon over steak basting constantly for 1 minute until light brown rest for 10 minutes
  • while steak is resting arrange tomato cucumber and parsley together in a serving bowl crumble over feta drizzle with 1 tbsp of the fetau2019s marinating oil and season
  • to serve two cut meat from either side of t bone and slice into 1cm strips against the grain spoon browned butter over steak and serve with tomato salad
